Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Although this is last year's family photo, I thought it appropriate to share it again this year...mainly because 2014's family pictures may happen in 2015.  I guess that's what happens when 7 months of the year your focus is on building a new home and not finding a photographer with availability.  Next year I'll be on top of it.

My Christmas wishes for this year are, as I told my two boys: I don't want presents, I only want a home where my two boys love and respect each other, try hard not to argue and fight and where they share and help others.  I'm not sure they will be gifting me with those delightful things this year, but it doesn't hurt to ask, right?

We've had a great almost 4 weeks in our new home, though we're still not finished unpacking.  We have a whole 16 foot storage pod to unload...and little room in the house for what's in there.  That might be a problem!

We bought our first real Christmas tree in almost 9 years this year and it has been so fun looking at it and smelling it.  I'm not sure I will ever go with a fake tree ever again (but don't hold me to that when January rolls around and it's dropping needles all over the house as we take it away...).  All of our Christmas decorations are still locked in the storage pod so we've been really creative with our decor, almost all we have on the tree and on our walls are handmade by me or the children.  It's not the prettiest to look at, but it sure is sweet!

Today, I'm making chocolate pecan pie, pumpkin pie and an apple cranberry pie, not to mention prepping the sweet potato casserole and making up cinnamon rolls to let rise in the fridge to cook on Christmas morning.  It's a good day, though sad because we won't be having Christmas Eve dinner at our house this year - though we'll have it at our wonderful friend's and old neighbors, the Jones' - I guess friend's really isn't quite the right word, we'll call them family!

We hope your Holidays are filled with love, laughter, family and good friends, and that in the upcoming year you'll not only have peace in your home, but make wonderful memories.

Love,
the Britt Family
